Singapore Biodesign partnered with A*STAR to co-develop a programme aimed at strengthening capabilities in translating research into impactful healthcare innovations.
This initiative supports the development of a robust pipeline of high-quality, well-scoped projects aligned with the requirements of GAP funding in the HHP domain.
SB developed an innovation training, equipping participants with a structured, needs-driven approach to address key considerations across clinical, technology, and business readiness. This enables stronger positioning of proposals for GAP funding, while building long-term translational capabilities that can be adapted across domains.
Programme Highlights
- 2022 Launch: Rolled out for MedTech-focused GAP Champions
- 2023 Expansion: Expanded to include Pharmbio (PB) and Agrifood (AF) sectors
- Strategic Mentorship: Collaboration with EDDC and Nurasa to support mentoring and delivery of customised workshops
- Impact: 22 GAP Champions trained to-date
Programme Approach
Participants undergo a high-touch, high-intensity programme over a 6-month period, designed to support the development of translational projects through structured guidance and expert input.
GAP Champion graduates serve as advocates and ambassadors within their respective Research Institutes, supporting peers in addressing GAP translational project requirements and strengthening overall innovation capabilities.
